#2 Chapman Rallies For 5-3 Baseball Win

Kurt Bednarcyk had two of Ithaca's seven hits

Orange, Calif. -- The 16th-ranked baseball team (1-3) lost 5-3 to #2 Chapman Wednesday. Sophomore third baseman Kurt Bednarcyk (Rochester/Fairport) went 2-3 and drove in one run.

Junior Rob Raux (Ilion/Frankfort) singled in the third to score sophomore catcher Craig Kropa (Canastota/Canastota) and senior outfielder Jeremy Peters (Thomas R. Proctor/Utica) to give the Bombers a 2-0 lead. Raux now has three RBIs on the season and has recorded a hit in the past three games. Peters has hit safely in each game this season.

Junior outfielder Shane Wolf (Lansing/Freeville), who went 2-4, hit his third double of the season to lead off the fourth. He was driven home when Bednarcyk singled. It was Bednarcyk team-leading fourth RBI of the season.

Senior Ryan Mays (Clinton/Clinton) started the game for the Bombers and pitched 7.1 innings, allowing two earned runs and striking out three batters.
